Project Manager / Project Architect
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to lead the design, coordination, and delivery of multifamily housing projects from concept through construction. This role is responsible for overall project success. Including client relationships, team leadership, financial performance, and execution of efficient, code-compliant residential design solutions.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and leader with multifamily housing experience, including wood-frame construction, capable of balancing big-picture planning with day-to-day execution. This individual will guide teams, coordinate complex building systems, and deliver high-quality, market-responsive housing solutions that meet budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead multifamily housing projects through all phases of design and construction
Own overall project performance, delivery, and client satisfaction
Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and contracts
Oversee quality control and ensure design intent is maintained
Develop and manage project budgets, staffing plans, and timelines
Monitor financial performance and ensure accurate billing
Serve as primary client contact and lead meetings and presentations
Proactively resolve challenges and manage expectations
Build and maintain strong client relationships
Lead, mentor, and manage project teams
Coordinate internal staff and external consultants (MEP, structural, civil)
Guide design direction and solve complex technical and code challenges specific to multifamily housing and wood-frame construction
Oversee construction documentation for quality, efficiency, and constructability
Manage communication across all project stakeholders
Lead project meetings, documentation, and permitting coordination
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Strong understanding of architectural design, documentation, and construction processes, particularly in multifamily housing
Experience with wood-frame and podium-style construction preferred
High level of organization and attention to detail
Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Google Workspace a plus)
Ability to balance design excellence with budget and schedule constraints
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required (Master’s preferred)
8+ years of professional experience in architecture, with multifamily housing experience required
Experience with wood-frame multifamily projects strongly preferred
Licensure strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience managing projects through multiple phases
