Project Architect
STITCH Design Shop is seeking an Architect II who’s ready to take the lead on meaningful projects in a variety of scales that shape communities across the Carolinas. This role is ideal for a driven designer who thrives in a highly creative, collaborative, and fast-paced environment, and who’s excited to push ideas forward with both technical skill and design vision.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for specific technical design aspects of assigned major projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meets the client’s needs.
Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs.
Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Provide technical guidance to less experienced architects.
Other related duties as assigned by Partner(s).
Non-Essential Duties:
Attend organization and community events on behalf of STITCH, as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in architecture.
6+ years of experience as an Architect; certification as a licensed professional Architect required.
Proficiency with BIM software (Revit preferred); 3D modeling software (SketchUp preferred); Microsoft Office 365.
Strong organization and communication skills.
Creative problem solver with a passion for design and attention to detail.
Strong project management skills, including client management, proposals, fees, etc.
Hold a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions: The Architect II will primarily work in an office environment. There may be an occasional requirement to work on a remote job site. The work hours for this position are predominantly during regular business hours, but may vary as the schedule must accommodate the needs of the project.
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, sit, stand, balance, talk, speak clearly, hear, and listen throughout the workday. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to approx. 10 pounds and possess the ability to grasp and move objects. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
