Freelance Architectural Drafter

Codevelop Architecture and Planning, PLLC, an Asheville, North Carolina-based firm, is seeking a  freelance drafter who must be located in the United States and available during regular business hours, to assist with design development and construction documents for small commercial and residential projects. Compensation will be based on experience in the architectural field.  We specialize in retrofitting existing commercial buildings and handling new tenant installations across retail, manufacturing, multifamily, and residential projects. Compensation $25-$55/hr

Mandatory qualifications:

  • 3-5 years minimum drafting experience in architectural setting

  • Own computer and AutoCAD software

  • U.S. residency

  • Weekday availability (not limited to evenings/weekends)

  • Detail-oriented approach

Preferred qualifications:

  • Additional experience beyond minimum

  • Knowledge of ICC codes

Responsibilities:

  • Produce construction documents for permitting and construction

  • Assist in design development

  • Layout design based on end user needs

Project types:

  • Small commercial: retail, manufacturing, warehousing, restaurants, breweries

  • Primarily upfits in existing buildings with some new construction

  • Residential: new construction, additions, renovations

Work Schedule

Hours: 5-20 hours at varying intervals depending on current office workload
