Architectural Project Manager
We are seeking an Architectural Project Manager to lead the coordination, technical development, and delivery of commercial construction documents. This role is responsible for guiding projects through the design and documentation process, coordinating internal staff and outside consultants, maintaining quality and code compliance, and supporting efficient project execution from concept through permit and construction documentation. The title aligns best with the Project Manager role in your firm positions document, with some of the technical-delivery characteristics of Architectural Staff Level III.
Not all projects follow the same delivery model, but this role will have access to construction-side insight and support as needed during the design process, benefiting from practical input on constructibility, coordination, sequencing, and overall project execution.
The role is also supported by internal administrative staff for routine accounting, billing, and invoicing tasks, allowing the Project Manager to stay focused on project coordination, consultant management, technical delivery, and team leadership.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Revit, experienced in BIM 360, understands applicable building codes, and is comfortable leading a small team while coordinating with engineering consultants, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead assigned projects through design development and construction documentation
Manage the preparation and coordination of commercial construction documents across all project phases
Coordinate drawings and project information among architectural and engineering disciplines, including civil consultants
Use Revit and BIM 360 to support model management, document coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration
Review work for quality, completeness, constructability, and code compliance
Apply strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and jurisdictional coordination
Direct and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance, delegation, and review
Coordinate project schedules, consultant deliverables, and internal team deadlines
Maintain clear communication among team members, consultants, clients, and leadership
Identify conflicts early and drive resolution across disciplines using Revit, BIM 360, and drawing review processes
Guide technical execution while balancing design intent, constructability, and code compliance
Support efficient, organized, and high-quality project delivery
Qualifications
Professional degree in architecture or related field preferred
Strong proficiency in Revit
Working knowledge of BIM 360 for project collaboration, file sharing, and consultant coordination
Demonstrated experience producing and coordinating commercial construction documents
Solid understanding of building systems, consultant coordination, and applicable building codes
Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to organize work, lead a small team, and keep projects moving
Experience in design-build delivery is preferred, but not required
