Decorative Hardwood Plywood & Veneer: Beautiful by Nature

This course will better inform the architect and designer about decorative hardwood plywood in terms of its manufacture, uses, types, and sustainable attributes. The architect and the designer will gain an understanding of the different adhesives and core material options available, which options are more sustainable, and which options are most commonly used. Participants will also know what to look for in order to successfully specify decorative hardwood plywood and how the material can contribute to LEED projects.

Richard Poindexter, CGP, LEED AP BD+C is the Specification & Specialty Products Manager for Columbia Forest Products covering the Eastern United States (www.columbiaforestproducts.com). In this capacity Richard conducts training seminars for architects, designers, fabricators, as well as CFP distributors. Richard graduated from North Carolina State University in 1995 with a B.S. in Wood Products and a minor in Business Management. Richard is a LEED Accredited Professional, and earned this designation in August, 2004. Richard is a founding member of the USGBC Piedmont Triad NC chapter (now USGBC North Carolina Chapter), and currently serves on the advisory board for the East Carolina University Interior Design Department. Richard resides in Greensboro, NC with his wife Leann, daughter Reagan, and son Gavin.
