Sketchline Architecture, PLLC is a small architectural firm located in the mountain resort town of Blowing Rock, NC. The firm specializes in the design of custom residential homes in western North Carolina. Our practice enjoys design-build projects and participates primarily in such collaborations. Our studio is seeking an Architectural Technician/Revit Drafter/BIM Specialist to join the team for an immediate start.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for drafting architectural drawings for residential projects from early space planning to construction documents.

  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.

  • Create accurate, complete drawings with materials, finishes, dimensions and construction methods.

  • Monitor processes for compliance with standards. Provide technical guidance to other personnel. Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance.

  • Meet scheduled dates as established by the Project Architect.

  • Champion the Revit platform to our design partners and extended team members.

  • Ensure our network files are organized and maintained within established guidelines.

  • Works closely with building regulating agencies, builders, contractors and the general public.


  • Ability to create details and construction sketches that pertain to residential architecture.

  • High degree of accuracy and feeling ownership and pride in what you produce.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and stay flexible while meeting deadlines and goals.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Computer-aided drawing and design degree, or equivalent experience, specializing in architecture with an emphasis on details and construction documents.

  • Experience with construction methods, framing, finishes, etc. is advantageous.

  • Proficient in AutoDesk Revit in the context of working on residential projects. Desire a minimum of 2-3 years working in a Revit environment on similar projects.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, and filing cabinets.
